Anyway you might think of this as a sort of insurance policy for when he becomes a horrible teenager... lets just say I am building up quite a library of photos. ;-)

Tassel head strikes again
So... when I said that an Englishman can never have too many hats, I wasn't kidding. This is just a fly-by to show off Microboy's latest, using the same free pattern that I published last week. I thought he could do with some hot colours this time... and I love the fact that I can have such a thought, and a few hours later the hat is finished. Instant gratification! (The sharp-eyed amongst you might spot that his hat matches the cardie that was made for him by my talented knitty friend Maxine).

Hi Susie,
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!! He's AMAZINGLY cute!!! And so is the hat, of course! I am very jealous that you can make something so cool in just a few hours. I'm new to knitting, and it takes me hours and hours just to knit a little square!!! How tricky do you think the hat would be for a beginner? I have a fair few pregnant friends at the moment, and I'd love to be able to make them little cute hats for their babies.
By the way, I visited Topsham in August! ;-) I'll be blogging about my finds soon!
Take care,
Carly

Hi Carly - thank you! I think that this hat is ideal for a beginner - if you knit it flat, it's basically just two simple squares sewn together. (Alternatively you could treat it as a way of trying your hand at knitting in the round, using a pair of 16" circular needles).
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed Topsham :-)

Oh Susan, your baby is too die for. You so will get payback for these adorable pictures when he is a teenager. Take it from one who knows (I have a sixteen year old son and twin six yr old sons ).
ReplyDeleteBless, your blog is gorgeous and I am returning the favour for your kind visit to my blog xx
Aw thank you, Karen. (And thanks for linking on Twitter - I have followed you)
ReplyDeleteNot only is that an amazingly cute baby, but he's willing to model hats! Not every baby is so cooperative. Great pattern, too.
